Palace 6 | Montreal Movie Theater | Tri-Blend Unisex T-Shirt

$40.44 CAD

Palace 6 was a movie theater in Montreal that first opened in 1921.

In 1928, it became the first theater in Canada to be wired for sound, and the first “talkie” shown there was Street Angel, starring Janet Gaynor.

Then in 1953, it was the first theater in Montreal to get CinemaScope, with The Robe starring Richard Burton.

The theater closed in August 1980, got completely gutted and turned into a six-screen multiplex, and reopened on June 26, 1981, as Palace 6.

It became a discount theater in 1995.

It finally closed down in January 2000.
